- Every NYU SOM Student maintains a private Professional Development Portfolio. This is a collection of evidence of
personal development as a physician. This is meant to facilitate your relationship with your mentor.
- You will be asked to write brief reflections on your professional development and review the portfolio with your mentor annually.
- The PDP is designed to help encourage medical students to maintain their core values and further develop the skills needed to face the challenges of the medical profession through regular self-reflection.
- After your four years of medical school your portfolio will be filled with examples of your professional development throughout your time in medical school and beyond.
